We’re so excited to share a big milestone: FilmUp has surpassed 400,000 followers on Instagram!
Two years ago, we launched FilmUp and started posting inspiring content for photographers and filmmakers. All we’ve ever wanted is to foster a positive community for like-minded creative people all across the world. We’re so happy that you’ve joined us!
Here’s an excerpt from the celebratory Instagram post, by founders Aryeh and Christina:
Over 5 years ago, we (Aryeh & Christina) decided to meet up at a local coffee shop in Ithaca, NY. Christina was just graduating from the film school, also known as the Park School of Communications at Ithaca College, on her way to start her new job at Jay Z’s production company, Scheme Engine. Aryeh was in his final year at Ithaca, double majoring in both the Park and the Business School. When we met up, we talked about what we wanted to do with our filmmaking degrees, and what type of films we wanted to make. We both said we wanted to make films that make the world a better place, films that move the world in an “Up”ward direction. And there it was: FilmUp.
The original idea was to thematically link films to pro-social causesand give people an outlet to do good. But as we started to make our way into the film world, we found it incredibly hard to showcase who we were as filmmakers and find qualified talent to work with us. So, we decided we were going to do something about it. We set out to solve the everyday problems that filmmakers face in the industry, from showcasing your work and finding jobs to getting paid on time – and so much more.
So we launched FILMUP!! With now over 400,000 followers (again, WOW), thousands of beta users, and having just secured our next installment of funding, we are going to make THE GREATEST PLATFORM IN THE WORLD FOR FILMMAKERS.
If you want to support filmmakers and FilmUp, join our FREE community today. You can use FilmUp as your own personal website, reach out to filmmakers in your area, upload your projects and get discovered.
