New Sony Alpha 7S II Camera Coming This Summer

Are you looking for a new mirrorless camera? Sony has just made an exciting announcement: a successor to the Alpha 7S II camera is coming out later this summer!

Kenji Tanaka, a Senior General Manager at Sony, revealed the news in an interview with DPReview.

“We’ve received many requests, especially from professional video content creators, and I can confirm that a successor to the Alpha 7S II will be coming later this summer,” he said.

Tanaka says camera will include a completely redesigned system, including the image sensor.

“Everything is new,” he continued. “We hope it will meet and exceed the expectations and requests of our customers. I’m very confident that our new model will meet their demands.”

Tanaka also touted the camera’s image quality, expression and big pixels. While the “S” in the camera’s name originally stood for “sensitivity,” he said it should now refer to the word “supreme.”

The current model of the Sony A7S II camera was a favorite of many content creators.

The new Sony Alpha 7S II camera will compete against the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, Z-CAM and the Canon EOS R5.
