You will also need to submit a written pitch via FilmFreeway along with your video, but it can be in the form of a shortened script, logline, or synopsis. You could also choose to submit an optional mood board and optional cast list.

Pitching Advice

The contest is a good excuse to hone your pitching skills. Pitching can be nerve wracking – most of us would rather show off our skills on the page or the screen – but it’s an important part of a career in the film industry.

It’s always a good idea to bet on your passion. Explain what inspired your project, why you have to tell this story, and why you’re the perfect person to do it!

Imagine that you’re telling a friend about a movie you just saw. You don’t need to get into the details of every scene. But to fill up 1-3 minutes, you need more than just a logline or tagline.

Some things to include in your pitch: genre, tone, world, main character, plot and theme.

The contest deadline is January 29th, 2021. For more information, check out the Lensrentals pitch contest official website!
